Re-Aligning with Nature
Re-Discovering the Power of Your Natural Inspiration, Creativity, and Wisdom

What this course is about:

Current cultural, societal, and economic paradigms are human constructs that are self-serving, self-reinforcing, and damaging to people and the planet.

When you understand and engage in the world from your Natural Paradigm, it makes our world a better place — and brings you joy and clarity along the way.

This on-demand course guides you through a wonderful journey of personal transformation. You learn how to overcome the triggers and traps of the Conventional Paradigm and live in alignment with your own Natural Paradigm.

You’ll practice living intentionally from your Natural Paradigm and experience how tapping into your innate inspiration, creativity, and wisdom allows you to be your best self.

When you take this course, you will:
  • Experience: You understand that living from your Natural Paradigm allows you to be your best self, but you’re stuck in the “real world”. Experiencing your Natural Paradigm allows you to feel its power as you move ahead in your transformation journey.
  • Grow: You get it, you love it, and now you’re ready to grow your personal N-toolkit. By digging deeper, you increase your power to overcome [C].  Daily practices keep you continuously learning and growing.
  • Nurture: Your toolkit is well equipped and you’re able to overcome the triggers and traps of the Conventional Paradigm. Now it’s time to take stock, nurture your growing natural toolkit, and begin letting go of the grip that the Conventional Paradigm has had on your life.
  • Evolve: You’ve transformed! But this is just the end of a new beginning. Like Nature, you need to keep experiencing, growing, and nurturing your Natural Paradigm. Like Nature, you need to continuously evolve.
  • Discover: Discover the power and wisdom of Nature’s Paradigm in your life, and how the Conventional Paradigm is keeping you from living your own priorities and values, and from being your best self.

What's included:
  • Five online on-demand lessons to guide your personal transformation journey
  • Free access to the book Re-Aligning with Nature, Ecological Thinking for Radical Transformation by Denise DeLuca (as an e-zine and downloadable pdf)
  • Course workbook (72-page downloadable pdf) with 30 activities that you can use over and over
  • Access to the Wild Hazel community online discussion group

Biomimicry Basics

What this course is about:
The first part of the course is an overview of the what, why, and how of biomimicry and the Biomimicry Design Spiral.

The core of the course shows you how to use the 6 steps of Biomimicry Design Spiral: Identify, Translate, Discover, Abstract, Emulate, and Evaluate. Here you will learn how to apply biomimicry to real design challenges. You can work on your own challenge, or just follow along with the examples provided. For each step in the spiral, you will:
  • Learn how to execute the step
  • See how the step is used in an example
  • Receive tips I've picked up from years of working in the field
  • Discover the unique benefits of using each step individually, so you can generate value from biomimicry even outside the spiral design process

You're also given two additional examples to give you a good sense of how the Biomimicry Design Spiral can be used for both technical and non-technical applications.

The last section of the course covers where biomimicry fits in a design process or 'innovation pathway'. We close the course with a practical look at how and where you can best bring the concepts and benefits of biomimicry into your organization.

When you take this course, you will be able to:
  • Describe biomimicry and how it relates to other forms of bio-inspired design
  • Use the Biomimicry for Design methodology (the Biomimicry Design Spiral) for technical and non- technical design challenges
  • Articulate why biomimicry is valuable for your organization
  • Integrate biomimicry into your design process or innovation pathway
